Our History

  • 2008

    Perspective Financial Group was founded in 2008 by industry veteran Paul Hogarth, a North West based entrepreneur.  In the first year, he acquired four well established and reputable financial planning businesses which all had over 20 years’ track records of success including firms from Newcastle upon Tyne, Milton Keynes and Braintree.

    The firm Paul acquired in Milton Keynes was called ‘Perspective Financial Management’, which now gives the group its name. ‘Perspective’ feels an appropriate name for a firm that uses its expertise to enable people to make full and effective use of their financial resources, so they can plan for and achieve the future they desire. We have helped thousands of clients over many years do exactly that.

  • 2013

    Since 2013, three directors have led the business as a stable team: Ian Wilkinson as Chief Executive Officer, David Hesketh as Chief Financial Officer and Julie Hepworth as Chief Regulatory Officer.

  • 2014

    The Perspective Academy was set up in 2014 to grow our next generation of employees who will share our client-centric and ethical approach which is firmly embedded within our business and also support our employees’ growth and career aspirations.

    We believe that careers in financial services can be hugely rewarding and we are committed to assisting our colleagues with continuing professional development, on-going support and excellent remuneration opportunities.

    Investing in our employees’ development to reach their full potential whilst creating a robust succession plan is very important to our business and its success.

  • 2019

    In 2019, CBPE Capital LLP, a mid-size London-based private equity firm, became a major investor in Perspective, alongside existing management. This partnership has enabled Perspective to accelerate its growth plans and deliver on the vision of building a sustainable and socially responsible business that is trusted by staff and clients, never detracting from the core value that clients always come first.

  • 2022

    We achieved our 50th acquisition milestone in March, which now means we have 22 offices across the country.

    In June, we commenced a formal graduate recruitment programme to help meet our growth ambitions, retaining our strong commitment to ‘developing our own financial planning talent’ via our Perspective Academy.

    We launched our new website in August to tell the Perspective story in a compelling and up to date way.

  • 2023

    We don’t yet know exactly what this year will bring, but are sure it will be about growth, ambition and continuing to give clients outstanding service, whilst always striving to set standards of excellence in financial planning as a profession.
